I'm assuming that all of our vehicles and other transport are connected to our new contextual smart home and I have on-going research in this space.
With our electric vehicles though, I'm planning enough local energy usage generation to meet all our transport needs, combined with intelligent charging control based on whole home context. I'm also asuming a 3-phase grid connection to enable power to be sent to the grid and to charge vehicles faster if need be.
I am currently looking at how our home's energy generation and charging infrastructure could be offered as a 'community service' to others.
I'm not planning to be in a position where our electric vehicles need to act as storage devices for our smart home, so I'm not designing our home with this capability in mind.
I don't currently own an electric vehicle but, I plan to buy one in early 2022. I'm currently tracking new car launches and these are the ones of interest so far:
The main issue with this (currently a concept) car is likely to be final pricing, if the Honda E is anything to go by.
The Microlino is a compact vehicle that is stylish and part way between a motorbike and a car. It is based loosely on the classic Isetta 'bubble car' and comes with two range options (125km and 200km). The projected price is 12,000 but as the project progresses, this is creeping upwards.
It's wacky and I'm currently on the waiting list for one.
Just love this new Tesla Roadster but, it's out of my price range.
