Whilst it is tempting to remove light switches completely, where lighting can be fully automated and a zero touch user experience, I would advise against this.
Many people like to use chrome or other metal switch plates but all of the ones I've used in the past have been very bad at showing up fingerprints and other marks.
The MK Grid Plus K4900 is a on-off-on retractive (momentary) switch that can be used to control dimmable lighting. It is a very high quality switch with a nice positive feel.
These switch modules mount into a frame, which is then covered with a face plate. These are available in 1-gand through to 4-gang. I think they even do an 8-gang version too.
